Happy #$th Birthday Ryan!!!

Here's a bea-u-tiful rendtion of Happy Birthday To You/How Old Are You :)

Notice the eyes of the children are less on the b-day boy, and more on the cake...

It could be because of the ENORMOUS amount of light being shed by those candles... OR maybe it's the fish, turtle & starfish sugar decals on the cake?! We may never truly know!!!

Oh, and in case you're wondering how old Ryan really is?! In our family it's tradition to use the symbols over the numbers on the keyboard after you turn 30... out of respect, ya know! Sooooo Ryan is 34! Love ya Ry-Guy!!!

Magic Dreams & A Post-Nap Snack

While camping this summer, we saw the first star come out so of course we said...

"Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight."

What did Braden wish for? Birthday cake! And as it was June 22nd (the day before his mom's birthday), it just so happened that we were going to have birthday cake the next day...

And now, the marshmallows (watch the video below). That's one magic kid :)

Small Talk...

Some chatter (and making faces) with the kids as we prepped for some "Black Friday" shopping... (at 11 AM).

I, of course, have an agenda for all 3 kids... what's the most fun thing to say?! Auntie Emmy of course!!! Doesn't matter who's saying it, those are my favorite words to hear!!!

Don't worry, the camera was not injured during the making of this video!

Cute-Lil'-Furry Monster Mash!

We had a visitor today... my "nephew," Mr. Ebby Calvin Laloosh (big name, little puppy...sort of!) He and Tula and Duchy had a blast playing and taking things away from each other and napping... it was a dog's life here.

When Kelly dropped Ebby off last night he was dressed in his Halloween costume, so of course I had to work in the first photo shoot of the Halloween season. I was going to post just a couple of pics of Ebby dressed as the devil and Duchy in her ballerina tutu (okay, and Ebby in the tutu too!), but as I downloaded the photos, I realized they best captured the essence of these three when viewed all together...

For Ayla, Braden & Bryan, With (Lots of) Love!

Ayla, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED talking to you on the phone tonight. You're a beautiful, hilarious & sweet girl, and most definitely my favorite niece :)

Here are some pics I took after we talked. I wanted you to be able to see the snow, and the Halloween decorations Grandpa put up - and of course Tula and Duchy, who miss you bunches!

The very chilly scarecrow - thank goodness he's wearing a hat... too bad he doesn't have on longer pants (or both legs)!

The cornstalks & pumpkins are from Grandpa Ron's garden!

Snow on the deck railing...

...& on the ground (and grill!)

Duchy & Tula saying "Hello - we love you Ayla, Braden & Bryan!"

I love you all and miss you tons - it was great to chat & to (vicariously) enjoy the yummy cream puffs!!!

Can't wait to see your Halloween costumes - send me pics & I'll put them on the blog :)

XOXOXO,
Auntie Emmy :)

Colorado: Take One!

So it's only been 3 months since my vacation in Colorado, and I finally sent Kyla all of the pics from my camera today, and then decided to make a slideshow as well!

Thanks Kyla, Luke, Shay & Brooke for being such wonderful hosts - you have a beautiful house, and a luxurious guest suite :) I know I'll be back!

Here are some pics from our day trip to Estes Park on my first full day in CO, and a couple of pics from the Anheuser-Busch Brewery tour as well... there's still much more to come :)

Colorado is a must-see state for sure!!!

Lions & Tigers &... Babies?

Another slide show... this one is full of BRAND NEW, just released photos from Mom & Dad's visit to Manitowoc this past weekend.

Enjoy the song - I thought it fit the animal theme well... and the featured baby?! Well, you'll just have to watch and see!!!

Let's Get it Started!

I was going to start things off with some videos of our escapades at Beaver Lanes during our Coon Forks camping trip this year, but that is just not to be - the videos just didn't want to load... I'll work out the kinks, but meanwhile... because it's late... here are some pictures from the camping trip to start things out :)

Gloria and the boys - Luke & Josh...
Bryan in relaxed camping mode...
Thanks for breaking from biting for the picture Bryan :)
Ayla, Braden and Auntie Emmy cooling off in the lake...
Bryan made some delicious "soup" at the beach... it looked a little funny, but he swore that he followed Bampa's recipe exactly :)
And that will just have to be the "teaser" for now... there are many more pictures to come :)
Oh, and if you see a pic you like, right-click on it to save it, print it, or make it your desktop... that's the beauty of the blog!

Welcome!

This blog will happen how it happens, and it will be good :)

That is the paraphrase of a quote from me! Apparently I said to one of the adults I worked with last year as he became Catholic. He has it on his "quote board" now and mentioned it to me earlier this month. I'm pretty sure it's an original!!!

Anyway, I've just recently started blogs for my programs at work and after discovering how easy it is, I decided it was about time I did one for family!

I've got TONS of pictures and even some videos, so the early posts will be catch-ups from the summer (and probably even earlier!)

So enjoy!
